What the heck .....

Well the weather really came thru but we still had issues with not enough blues. I didn't get a chance to see as many games because of it.
As the temp finally starts to heat up, we are coming to the end of the season. With only 3 games left, there are alot of teams still in it. As always we will most likely have to use tiebreakers.
We have a few tie games that I have to get in. I am thinking maybe we can get those games with either doubleheaders or play early on Mothers day. I know Memorial weekend just won't work.
If we can finally be done with the rain, I am hoping we get games 8 and 9 in before Mothers day. This will be the start of a couple of games off. We won't play Mothers and Memorial day. So the playoffs will probably get interrupted.

Playoff Roster

Rosters set

Playoff rosters are now set. This means any player added from now on will not be eligible to play in the playoffs. They can play games 8-10 but not the playoffs. Players already on the roster must have pics to be playoff eligible. So teams that have a chance to make the playoffs, please make sure all your player pics are in.

Umpires needed

Are you interested

Ever since COVID umpires have been difficult to find. Its not just us. Every other league I've spoken with, tells me they are short on umpires. I think being umpire is a good side gig. The money is good. I think the math is like $30 an hour. You don't have to umpire 3 games but you can get at least umpire one game per Sunday. Thats like $120 for 3 hours work.
Call me if this sounds like something you would be interested.

Illegal Bats

Drop 5 bats

We've had very few issues with bats in the past. Mostly a few corked or "rolled" bats. Other leagues have started to have issues with drop 5 bats. These bats have always been in the grey area. Specifically the drop 5 Hype Fires from Easton have been in the news lately. From what I've heard there have been severe injury incidents. I know we all are aware anyone using these bats are liable for any injury they may cause.
I think we will have to address this issue very soon. Not ready to ban all Drop 5 bats but I can see that happening in the near future.

Any player that plays in a game in which they were suspended, will cause their team to forfeit all games and player will be suspended additional games.
